A delegation led by the Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, is on an experience-sharing visit to Finland and has held discussions with H.E Mr Anders E. Adlercreutz, Minister of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland.
Prof Berhanu emphasized, among other things, the urgent need for a strong cooperation with Finland in the area of teacher education, inclusion and early child education.
He specifically mentioned the wish for collaboration between the newly re-organized institution, Kotebe University of Education, to specialize on teacher education and Universities in Finland in teacher with a similar focus.
He also further highlighted Ethiopian’s effort in mobilizing the public for pre-school enrollment and school feeding.
Minster Aldercreutz explained the reasons for the success of equity and quality education in Finland.
Both Ministers agreed to strengthen joint and focused teacher training collaboration and Minister Prof Berhanu invited Mr Aldercreutz to visit Ethiopia.
The meeting was attended by Prof Kindeya Gebrehiwot (State Minster of MoEdu), Mr Okugn Okello (Head Bureau of Education of Gambela) and Mrs Pia Korpinen (counselor for Education at the Finland Embassy in Ethiopia).
(ጥቅምት 28/2018 ዓ.ም) በትምህርት ሚኒስትሩ ፕሮፌሰር ብርሃኑ ነጋ የተመራ ልዑካን ቡድን በፊንላንድ እያደረ ካለው የልምድ ልውውጥ ጎን ለጎን ከፊንላንድ የትምህርትና ባህል ሚኒስቴር ጋር ተወያይቷል።
በዚሁ ጊዜ የትምህርት ሚኒስቴሩ ፕ/ሮ ብርሃኑ ነጋ በመምህራን ስልጠና ፣ በአካቶና በቅድመ ልጅነት ትምህርት ዙሪያ ከፊላንድ ጋር ያለውን ትብብር የበለጠ ለማጠናከር ፍላጎት ያላቸው መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።
በተለይም በአዲስ መልክ የተደራጀው የኮተቤ ትምህርት ዩኒቨርሲቲን በመምህራን ስልጠና ላይ ከሚሰሩ አቻ የፊንላንድ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች ጋር በማስተሳሰር በትብብር የሚሠሩበትን ሁኔታ ለማመቻቸት ፍላጎት ያለ መሆኑን ሚኒስትሩ አስገንዝበዋል።
በተጨማሪም በቅድመ መደበኛ ትምህርት ተሳትፎና በትምህርት ቤት ምገባ ዙሪያ ላይ የማህበረሠቡን ተሳትፎ እና ድጋፍ ለማሳደግ በተሠሩ ስራዎች የገኙ አበረታች ውጤቶችን አስመልክቶ በክቡር ሚንስትሩ ፕ/ር ብርሃኑ ነጋ ገለጻ ተደርጓል።
የፊንላንድ ትምህርትና ባህል ሚኒስትር H.E Mr Anders E. Adlercreutz, በበኩላቸው ፊንላንድ የትምህርት ጥራት እና ፍትሃዊነት ለማረጋገጥ የሄደችበትን ርቀትና የተገኙ ስኬቶችን አስመልክቶ ለልኡካን ቡድኑ ገለጻ አድርገዋል።
ሁለቱም ሚኒስትሮች የመምህራን አቅም ማጎልበቻ ስራዎች ላይ ያላቸውን ትብብር ለማጠናከር የተስማሙ ሲሆን የፊንላንድ ትምህርትና ባህል ሚኒስትሩ ኢትዮጵያን እንዲጎበኙ በፕሮፌሰር ብርሃኑ ነጋ በኩል ግብዣ ቀርቦላቸዋል።
በውይይቱ ላይ የትምህርት ሚኒስቴር አማካሪ ሚኒስትር ዴኤታ ፕሮፌሰር ክንደያ ገብረህይወትና ሌሎች የዘርፉ አመራሮችም ተገኝተዋል።
(Nov 07/ 2025) A high-level Ethiopian delegation led by the Minister of Education, H.E. Professor Berhanu Nega, is currently undertaking official visit to Finland. The visit comes at the official invitation of the Government of Finland.
The delegation is accompanied by Professor Kindeya Gebrehiwot, State Minister of Education, and Mr. Ekugn Ukelo, Head of the Gambella Regional Education Bureau, along with other senior officials of the Finland Embassy in Addis Ababq.
During its stay, the delegation will hold discussions with key Finnish institutions, including the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Finnish National Education Agency, Teacher-Training Schools, the University of Helsinki, National Quantom Institute, Aalto University and Nokia, among others.
The visit aims to strengthen cooperation between institutions in Ethiopia and Finland, enhance experience-sharing in the education and explore opportunities for colloboration in teacher training especially with Kotebe University.
This initiative reflects the Ministry of Education’s continued commitment to improving the quality of education in Ethiopia through international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
